What is Dentil Molding?
Dentil molding is a type of decorative molding that features a repeating pattern of small, rectangular blocks (called “dentils”) that are evenly spaced along the length of the molding. The dentils are usually set in a straight line, and the molding itself may be curved or flat. Dentil molding has been used in architecture and interior design for centuries, and it is commonly found in classical or traditional styles. It was particularly popular during the ancient Greek and Roman periods, and has been used extensively in Neoclassical and Colonial Revival styles.
