What is Formica?

Formica is a brand of high-pressure decorative laminate (HPL) that is widely used in furniture and interior design. The brand name “Formica” is often used generically to refer to any HPL, but technically it only refers to the products made by the Formica Group, which is a global manufacturer of laminates and other surface materials.

Formica is known for its durability, resistance to scratches and stains, and ease of maintenance. It is made by stacking multiple layers of paper or fabric impregnated with phenolic resin and then compressing them under high pressure and heat. The top layer is usually a decorative print that can mimic the look of wood, stone, or other materials. Kitchen cabients and flooring 1-kitchen remodel
