What is Refacing?

Refacing, in the context of cabinetry and furniture, refers to the process of updating the exterior appearance of existing cabinets or furniture by replacing or covering the visible surfaces. Instead of completely removing and replacing the entire cabinet or piece of furniture, refacing offers a more cost-effective and less disruptive alternative.

The process typically involves removing the doors, drawer fronts, and sometimes the hardware from the existing cabinets or furniture. The visible surfaces, such as the cabinet frames and sides, are then covered or veneered with new material, which can be wood veneer, laminate, or other decorative options. The doors and drawer fronts are also replaced or refinished to match the new look.
